- Artemis Gallery was established in 1975.
For most of its existence it has specialized in the furniture
and related decorative arts of the American Federal Period (1790-1830).
It takes great pride in helping people find choice examples of
Federal furniture at relatively affordable prices. Among its
customers are both beginning and advanced collectors, decorators
and museums. In addition, the gallery has always enjoyed working
with professional designers and fellow antiques dealers.
The gallery is run by Jesse Goldberg who has been a long-time
member, and former board member, of the Antiques Dealers' Association
of America (ADA). The ADA code of ethics, which the gallery is
bound by, requires full disclosure of the origin and condition,
including any restoration and repairs, of all pieces. This will
be written out on invoices and unconditionally guaranteed. He
is also a member of the Antiques Council and exhibits at several
of their shows.
The furniture on this web site is in basically original structural
condition unless otherwise noted. Please feel free to call any
day between 9 AM and 9 PM for a full condition report. The photographs
are meant to convey a general sense of each piece. The gallery
will be happy to email you more detailed pictures of any items
of interest. Also available are appropriate accessories of the
Federal Period including silver, glass, ceramics and prints.
Please call for more information.
