This stunning sideboard is made from the choicest mahogany
veneers contrasted with flame birch ovals and crossbanded for
additional accent. The delicate proportions are enhanced by the
finely reeded outside posts and
legs. But what truly makes it special are the rare small size
and the even rarer pull-out slide at the top. It was made in
coastal MA or NH, possibly Portsmouth, NH circa 1800-1810. It
is in outstanding original structural
condition including the slide surface; the brasses are period
but not the originals.
Dimensions are: Case W. 41 1/2" H. 40 3/4" D.
