- Sets of 8 saber leg chairs have become very scarce on
the market. These chairs were made in Philadelphia circa 1815.
The mahogany is beautiful, especially with the old finish and
great color. The back rail is very well carved and quite unusual.
It is of a style that we have never seen before. Note the reeded
front rail and the fine turned mahogany circular medallion
embellishments at the tops of the legs. In good original structural
condition with a few minor old repairs. Saber leg chairs are
beautiful to look at and comfortable to sit in.
