POSSIBLY UNIQUE PAIR OF NEW YORK PEMBROKE TABLES ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGE WOODRUFF

Possibly Unique Pair Of New York Pembroke Tables Attributed To George Woodruff (F763)

These extremely fine New York City mahogany pembroke tables are nearly identical to one pictured in "American Furniture, The Federal Period" by Montgomery, which is the Winterthur collection, on page 351, labeled by George Woodruff. The front panels are veneered with casuarina, also known
as lacewood, which was first imported from Botany Bay, Australia in the 1790's. It was used only on the finest Federal pieces beginning around 1800.

We do not know of another pair of American Sheraton period pembroke tables. This pair may be unique. They are truly rare and beautiful.

Dimensions are: H. 30"     L. 31 1/2"     W. 20"

$ 16,500.
