- This is a very common form in English furniture but is
rarely seen in American furniture. This example has two leaf
supports made of ash, a typical American wood, which indicates
that it was made here. It may have been made in New York or possibly
Boston in the period 1800-1815. Dimensions are: height 36",
diameter of larger shelf 26" and diameter of smaller shelf
19 1/2". An interesting feature is that both shelves fold
down like a drop leaf table. The dumbwaiter retains an old untouched
finish and its original signed brass casters.
