- A highly desirable inlaid mahogany Hepplewhite chest of
drawers of rare small size. The case width is only 35" and
the height is only 32" (top is 36" x 20"). The
case is nicely grained mahogany but note the delicate crossbanding
to the top and the light wood and ebony edge inlay around the
drawers. In addition there is a very distinctive band inlay around
the apron at the base. This inlay along with the small size and
several construction details all point to Baltimore manufacture
circa 1790's. In original structural condition except for some
needed minor veneer repairs, replaced brasses.
