- Here is a mahogany dining table that is American and period
and, best of all, quite affordable. It was made in New York circa
1830. When closed it is a 47 1/2" diameter round dining
table on a central fluted column. As it is pulled apart the column
separates into two half-columns, a pair of legs is exposed and
a telescoping assembly can support the leaves. There are two
large and one small leaf, all original, that can be used to form
a dining table up to 8 feet in length
which would seat up to 10 people. The height is 29 1/2"
so that it is comfortable to sit at. It is in as-found condition
having come directly from a home where it was still being used.
It has an old finish, good color, some abrasions to one leaf
and some veneer loss to the base. It is priced as is but we would
be happy to have it restored/polished for you at our cost.
