A very fine tall case clock in excellent running condition.
The solid mahogany and mahogany veneers are choice. Especially
fine is the crossbanding used to highlight the crotch mahogany
veneered panels. Clocks of this type were made in New York City
and across the river in New Jersey. The works are American, probably
NJ. The dial was probably imported but painted locally. Dimensions
of the clock are: height 93", width 19 1/2" and depth
10". The case is in excellent original structural condition
with the original works. There is no evidence that it ever had
finials. There is a small amount of touch-up to the paint on
the dial and a few small veneer repairs on the case. This beautiful
clock would enhance any fine collection of antique furniture.
