Emmons & Archibald were noted Boston cabinetmakers
of the Classical period. Their furniture was unique in that they
continued the veneering into the central arched section under
the center of the sideboard. It is a beautiful design element.
Note that they chose the finest matched crotch
mahogany veneers for the front. And the top is an incredible
six foot by two foot single solid mahogany board with great figuring.
There is a very rare silver drawer in the left cupboard section
which still retains its original baize lining. This dramatic
sideboard is not only beautiful to look at but is a very practical
dining room piece with substantial storage space.
Dimensions are: L. 72" D.
