TWO STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC FIGURES OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN MID-NINETEENTH CENTURY

Two Staffordshire Ceramic Figures Of Benjamin Franklin Mid-Nineteenth Century (A644)

These two ceramic figures were made in Staffordshire, England in the mid-19th century for the American market. They didn't seem to care much about accuracy in labeling them ! I wonder how Americans felt then about Franklin being labeled "Washington" ? In any case, they are nicely hand painted and in excellent condition except for a bit of wear to the gray paint on "Washington's" shoes and hat.

Dimensions are:   "Franklin"...13 3/4"    "Washington"...15 1/2"

$ 2400. Each
