These two ceramic figures were made in Staffordshire, England in the mid-19th century for the American market. They didn't seem to care much about accuracy in labeling them ! I wonder how Americans felt then about Franklin being labeled "Washington" ? In any case, they are nicely hand painted and in excellent condition except for a bit of wear to the gray paint on "Washington's" shoes and hat. Dimensions are: "Franklin"...13 3/4" "Washington"...15 1/2" $ 2400. Each |
