| EXTREMELY RARE PHILADELPHIA MASONIC PITCHER CIRCA 1830 |

|
This ceramic low-form pitcher was made in Staffordshire, England circa 1831. However it is labeled in gold paint "Lodge 51 Philadelphia" along with Masonic symbolism. This was one of the first Masonic lodges in the United States and it is still in existence in Philadelphia. Most likely it was decorated in England as part of an order, rather than the decoration having been added here. Very few pieces marked for specific venues in America are known, making this a great rarity. There is an old staple repair and a short crack by the handle which doesn't affect the esthetics of the pitcher. Dimensions are: H. 6" L. 9 1/4" $ 1200. |
