This gilt mirror is distinguished by the original eglomise panel of an eagle, so representative of the early Federal period. It was made in New England, probably Massachusetts, circa 1800-1815. It retains its original gilt surface and backboard. A label on the back shows its provenance to be that it was formerly in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Dimensions are: Height 32 1/2" Width 19 1/2" $ 3200. |
