The carved fleur-de-lis corners are found on a labeled mirror made in New York City by Isaac Platt in the 1820's (see "The Mirror Book" by Schiffer, page 239). We refer to them as "Platt-type" mirrors although we cannot say for sure that they were all made by him. They are not only beautiful but very distinctive. This outstanding example retains its original gilt surface, mirror glass and backboard. Dimensions are: Height 51" Width 28" $ 3950. |
