- A beautifully made mahogany chest of drawers with its
original turned wooden knobs, ball feet and an untouched surface.
It must have been made for a very special child. The underside
of the drawer bottom is signed by the cabinetmaker, "John
Treadwell", along with the place, "Boston", and
date, "1844". This may be a unique miniature since
we know of no other that is signed this completely. Other miniature
pieces may be found in our
"Gallery of Decorative Arts".
